Crews will be back to work on the former Grace hospital site this week, removing asbestos and other substances from inside buildings before demolition begins.
Contractor Budget Environmental Disposal Incorporated has already started removing piles of debris, according to a release from the City of Windsor. Crews are scheduled to start hazardous-materials removal at the Brett Building at Oak and University avenues, then move to the main building.
The City of Windsor expects it will take about five months to finish demolition.
