A Windsor man has died after being ejected from his vehicle while driving on the E.C. Row Expressway Friday night.
Police say the single-vehicle accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. near the Dougall Avenue ramp.
The man was driving in a pick-up truck alone and was heading eastbound when the accident occurred, said Windsor Police Sgt. Wren Dosant.
“We believe that the vehicle hit the shoulder of the road, then the vehicle rolled a few times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle,” Dosant said from the scene.
The man landed around three meters from his vehicle after being ejected, Dosant said.
Several witnesses stopped to try to help, said Dosant.
“There was a nurse who happened to be passing by and she did assist as best she could,” said Dosant.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, said Dosant.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, said Dosant.
Police are not releasing the name or age of the man until next of kin have been notified.
