Two people were taken to the hospital and a Windsor man faces multiple drinking-and-driving charges after a vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle and then a building in downtown Windsor early Sunday morning.
Windsor police were called to the 300 block of Church Street at about 3 a.m. Police say a 23-year-old man driving a GMC pickup truck was travelling north when he lost control and struck a parked vehicle, then drove through a fence and into a building.
Police say the two passengers in the vehicle with the man were transported to hospital by ambulance to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and two counts of driving while having blood alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams, said police.
Both the man’s pickup truck and the parked vehicle he drove into were destroyed.
