Provincial police have tracked down their suspect in Hamilton more than a month after a melee at a Leamington bar ended with a stabbing.
Steven Hayden, 33, of Hamilton, is charged with assault, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Police said a fight involving three men broke out at about 2:30 a.m. on March 2 at Mezza’s Bar at 38 Talbot St. W. in Leamington.
It ended with one man being assaulted and another getting stabbed with a knife.
A 23-year-old man was taken to Leamington Hospital with injuries from a single non-life-threatening stab wound. A 20-year-old Leamington man was also treated at hospital after being assaulted.
The OPP Central West Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad arrested Hayden April 9 in Hamilton. Police said he remains in custody.
