Ontario Provincial Police and the Amherstburg Police Service are investigating similar but separate daytime break-and-enters where it appears the same car was involved. They have released sketches of the suspects.
This week, Amherstburg police were called to Forest Hill Cres. after a resident pointed out a dark blue Chevrolet Impala circling the block several times.
The witness saw a man and woman in the car that matched the description of two suspects in a break-and-enter where a female suspect was able to flee in the waiting vehicle.
Witnesses described the car as a royal blue Impala and the occupants were described as in their late 50s or early 60s and small in stature. The female suspect was described as about 5′ or 5’2″ with short dark hair, short bangs and a side part, wearing a dark jogging-type top, blue jeans and white running shoes.

Back in November 2012, OPP were called four times to the area of Russell Woods and St. Clair Beach after witnesses saw a dark blue Chevrolet Impala circling the block.
In the area of Southwind Crescent in Tecumseh, another resident saw a strange car circling the block while a person pried open the window of a house and got inside. The car sped away after the witness approached the occupants.
The male who was driving the car in that incident is described as a white male, about 5’6″ tall with grey facial hair and a round face. He was seen wearing a red wool hat. Witnesses placed him at about 62 years old.
The second suspect, seen prying open the window of the house, is described as 5’9″, wearing a black waist-length jacket, black pants and black wool cap.
The car was described as a dark blue Impala, late 2000 model.
Police are advising residents to be aware of anything suspicious when leaving their homes during the daytime. Residents are urged to call police if they see any suspicious activity.
