A Windsor man is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into a South Walkerville home to steal guns and ammunition.
Police said the break-in happened Monday afternoon.
The thief stole several registered firearms and ammunition, along with some other property. A witness told officers there was a suspicious vehicle in the area around the time of the break-in.
On Tuesday, the Windsor police Target Base Unit followed up on the vehicle sighting. Around 2 p.m., the Target Base and Emergency Services units went to a house in the 700 block of Stanley Street, where they found some of the stolen guns and ammo.
They also arrested a 27-year-old Windsor man on charges of break and enter and theft, break and enter and theft of a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm obtained by commission of an offence and three counts of possession of a firearm without holding a licence
