Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne made another stop in Windsor Sunday afternoon, speaking at the Ontario Young Liberals’ annual general meeting and dropping by the Riverside Farmer’s Market.
Wynne was in Windsor just two weeks ago, when she stopped by the City of Windsor Employment and Training Services Centre. She was back in the region for a meeting with governors and premiers whose states and provinces border the Great Lakes on Michigan’s Mackinac Island Saturday.
In Windsor, Wynne looked at goods, chatted with vendors and took questions from the media at the farmer’s market. She said she still didn’t know when her government plans to call a byelection in Windsor-Tecumseh, an action she must take by mid-August after former finance minister Dwight Duncan followed in the footsteps of Wynne’s predecessor Dalton McGuinty and stepped down.
“We don’t have a byelection date yet, but stay tuned,” she said. “We haven’t made that decision yet.”
Wynne said the Great Lakes meeting was productive and she would like the organization to meet more often.
