OPP identify victim of fatal collision between train and SUV

Essex County OPP have identified the man killed Thursday when a freight train slammed into his SUV.

Thomas Little, 26, of Tecumseh, died after the CP Rail train hit his Ford Explorer around 11 a.m. at the rail crossing on Wallace Line, between County Road 22 and County Road 42 in Lakeshore.

Police said they are still investigating what happened. The CP Rail freight train, headed east, collided with the northbound Explorer. Thomas, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital.
