Chatham-Kent police responded to an unusual call about a home intruder Friday night where the culprit was a deer.
Police were called to a home on Van Allen Avenue around 8 p.m. for a report of a deer that had entered the residence.
Responding officers discovered a deer in the furnace room located in the basement of the home. Police determined the deer had entered the residence through a screen door.
Police were able to redirect the deer back upstairs and guide it back outside and into the wild.
There were no injuries reported to the deer or the residents and minimal damage occurred inside the home as a result.
