A young woman is facing charges after a cab driver reported seeing her allegedly driving drunk hours after last call Sunday morning.
Police said the cab driver picked up the 22-year-old woman in Windsor’s west end at around 4:25 a.m. She asked the driver to bring her downtown, where she got out and started up her 2002 Jeep Liberty.
Police said the cab driver then followed the Jeep and called police, informing them that the woman was cruising through red lights.
When officers spotted the Jeep, they said it was weaving across the street.
Police said they pulled over the young woman, who was slurring her speech and unsteady on her feet.
Officers arrested her and brought her to headquarters for a breathalyzer test.
Police said she blew almost three times the legal blood-alcohol limit and will be charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.
Police have impounded her Jeep for seven days. She is scheduled to appear in court within the next two weeks.
Police urge the public to always report motorists showing signs of drunk driving.
