Essex OPP are investigating after a 23-month-old was pulled from a pond in Harrow and airlifted to a London, Ont., hospital where he is now on life support.
OPP officers and paramedics responded to the backyard of a residence in Harrow at about 5 p.m. to find the boy unconscious and not breathing. They performed CPR on the child until he was airlifted to Sick Children’s Hospital.
Police say the boy and his family are from Brunswick, Ohio, and had been at a Christian gathering at a church in Harrow. While at the event, the father suddenly realized he could not locate his toddler son.
After 15 minutes of searching the area, the family located the boy in a backyard pond on Clithrow Street, which is a property abutting the church.
Police are not releasing any names at this time.
