U.S. authorities stopped a Justin Bieber tour bus Sunday at the Ambassador Bridge, seizing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to celebrity gossip website TMZ.
The website quotes Chief Customs and Border Protection Officer Ken Hammond. He said the bus was entering Detroit from the Windsor side when a drug-sniffing dog detected weed.
Officers then searched the bus and found the drugs. They seized the marijuana and issued the driver a citation before allowing the bus to leave, according to TMZ. Bieber wasn’t on the bus.
The incident comes about five months after U.S. border officers stopped Rihanna’s tour buses at the bridge. About 10 buses were sent to secondary inspection in March after an officer detected a strong odour of weed coming from one of them.
Officers boarded the bus with a drug-sniffing dog, which zeroed in on a passenger. They searched that person and found a “small amount” of pot. He was issued a civil penalty and released before the buses were allowed to continue on.
Rihanna also wasn’t on any of those buses.
