Windsor police are hoping the public can help track down a hit and run driver who left a young man lying on the road with a broken leg.
Officers were sent to the intersection of the 6th Concession and Holburn Street on Sept. 10 around 11:30 p.m. They arrived to find paramedics treating a 22-year-old man on the road.
The victim told police he approached the intersection while skateboarding home from a friend’s house. He watched two northbound vehicles approach the intersection on the 6th Concession.
The first vehicle stopped for the stop sign, then continued on. The victim then rolled into the intersection. But the second car ran the stop sign and slammed into him, police said, knocking him to the ground.
The driver then fled the scene. Police said the car is a burnt orange Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix. It had tinted windows and an Ontario licence plate that begins with BH.
The victim, who suffered a broken right leg along with cuts and abrasions, was taken to hospital.
