The City of Windsor has launched Facebook and Twitter pages to keep voters updated on the looming byelection in Ward 7.
The voting day is Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and people who wish to run for the vacant council seat have until Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. to file their nomination papers. So far, seven have signed on to replace Percy Hatfield, who jumped to provincial politics as the NDP MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh.
The city set up @ElectionWindsor for Twitter users and its Facebook site is at facebook.com/electionswindsor. It also has an official election website at windsorelections.ca.
