A woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after her vehicle was struck by a train Tuesday night.
Staff Sgt. Jeff Verkoeyen said that just before 7:45 p.m. a car was travelling south on Concession 7 east of Walker Road south of Baseline Road near the Windsor Christian Fellowship building when it crossed into the path of a westbound freight train.
The car sustained significant damage. The woman was freed from the wreckage by Windsor firefighters. According to a media report, she suffered a broken ankle.
The crossing does not have wig-wag barriers and is marked only by a static sign.
The investigation will be handed over to CN Rail police.
