Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspicious man who accosted an eight-year-old boy.
The incident happened Monday between 4 and 4:30 p.m. in the area of Delaware Avenue in Chatham.
The boy told police he was walking when a vehicle with dark-tinted windows stopped by him.
A man in the vehicle lowered a window and asked the boy if he wanted a ride.
The child said no.
The vehicle continued south on Delaware, then turned west on Forest Street.
According to the boy, the man did not get out of the vehicle and did not lower the window enough for his face to become visible.
The vehicle was described as a grey four-door car or van. Officers searched the area, but found no match.
