Windsor police rule out foul play in death of wheelchair-bound woman

Police do not suspect foul play after the body of an elderly woman was discovered in an overturned motorized wheelchair in Windsor’s east end last night.

The 71-year-old female has been identified as a nearby resident, police said. She had gone out alone on a shopping excursion.

The woman was found around 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Lauzon Road, near the WFCU Centre.

There were shopping bags and blankets on the wheelchair.

Police said they are in the process of notifying next of kin.
