Windsor police have released surveillance photos of an opportunistic crook who stole a woman’s purse while she was sleeping at her husband’s bedside in a hospital room.

Police were called to the Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus at 2:35 a.m. on Nov. 18.
The 55-year-old victim told police she was at her husband’s bedside in a resuscitation room when she fell asleep. She woke up to find a man holding her purse. She yelled at him and he ran off with the purse.
The woman’s purse and wallet were later discovered near the emergency room exit. Her money was gone.
