A new mobile application to pay tolls at the Detroit-Windsor tunnel designed for those who only cross occasionally was released on Friday.
Users can download the free app and then be able to purchase between two to 10 trips at a slightly discounted toll rate as low as $4.25 per trip, said Neal Belitsky, the tunnel’s president.
“The trips never expire and additional trips can be purchased at any time,” he said.
The Detroit-Windsor tunnel app is available in the iOs App store and on Google Play.
Travellers can use any toll lane at the tunnel with the app. In an attended lane show the code on the phone and in an electronic lane hold the phone’s code to the reader in the lane, Belitsky said.
