AMHERSTBURG Town councillors will be trained in the operations of the emergency operations centre.
Coun. Diane Pouget put forward the motion Tuesday asking that all councillors be trained “as quickly as possible.”
At the last council meeting, Fire Chief Randy Sinasac said there is a possibility, if the mayor and deputy mayor and every other councillor were unavailable, that Pouget would be needed to run the town’s EOC. But Pouget said she has never received any training for the EOC.
Coun. John Sutton said training opportunities have been made available to councillors in the past.
Pouget said she did attend past training but the training she was asking for was different.
“I’m asking for actual training at the EOC,” Pouget said.
