Another dump of snow is headed our way Sunday afternoon.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Friday afternoon warning that heavy snow — as much as 20 centimetres — could wallop the area Sunday afternoon and evening. The region is still digging out from about 35 centimetres of snow that fell over a two-day period to ring in the New Year.

A low pressure system is expected to develop over Oklahoma Saturday and cross Southern Ontario late Sunday with heavy snow hitting Southwestern Ontario Sunday afternoon, said Environment Canada. The statement said many places will get 15 to 20 centimeters of snow and travel conditions will be poor.

Bitter cold is expected to follow Monday with north to northwest winds producing blowing and drifting snow, the statement said.

The low on Monday is forecast at -13C and the low on Tuesday is forecast at -20C.
