Windsor police arrested two women at Caesars Windsor this morning, following a reported robbery of another woman in the 1300 block of Ouellette Avenue.
“They were acquaintances of the victim,” Staff Sgt. Jeff Verkoeyen said. “The victim was in the lobby (of an apartment building) retrieving some mail. Suspects approached, struck the victim in the face, took her wallet and left.”
The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m.
Police quickly tracked the suspects — a 21-year-old woman from Toronto and a 25-year-old woman from Waterloo — to Caesars, where the two were called out of a hotel room and arrested.
The suspects, whose names the police have yet to release, were charged with one count each of robbery. They will be arraigned in court today.
