A 21-year-old Essex man is facing multiple charges after allegedly failing to stop for police Friday night in Leamington.
At about 9:20 p.m., Leamington OPP attempted to stop a 1998 White Subaru on County Rd. 34 for a Highway Traffic Act violation. The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, but officers did not pursue.
The Subaru was later spotted travelling eastbound on Seacliffe Drive. Officers deployed a spikebelt near Seacliffe Drive and Sherk Street and stopped the man, who is facing several charges including two counts of stunt driving and two counts of failing to stop for police.
Leamington OPP are still investigating and more charges are pending.
The driver was released and will appear in court May 1.
