Essex County OPP employees have donated $13,000 in gifts, food and gift cards for needy kids and families.
Officers and civilian staff donated $5,000 worth of gifts, food and gift cards for five families identified by Victim Services or the Children’s Aid Society. They have also donated $8,000 worth of toys for children in the hospital.
It’s a tradition that began seven years ago in an effort to surprise struggling families and make their season a little brighter.
“The other members of the Essex County Detachment command staff and I are very proud of the OPP officers, civilians and auxiliary members that form part of this detachment,” said Insp. Glenn Miller. “The work being done in and for our communities is clearly remarkable and this is simply another example of their strong desire to help others.”
