A Chatham man has died following a destructive two-car crash last Thursday.
Chatham-Kent police said Perry Molema, 56, of Chatham, passed Saturday from his injuries.
Emergency crews responded shortly before 4 p.m. Dec. 20 to Grand Avenue West near Wood Street in Chatham. There had been a crash involving an Infiniti car and a Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
Police said the Dodge was headed west on Grand Avenue. The Infiniti was travelling east and made a left turn into a parking lot. The Dodge slammed into the passenger side of the Infiniti. Police said there was about $50,000 in damage.
The 49-year-old Chatham man who was driving the pick-up was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Molema was trapped in the car. After rescue crews extricated him, he was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. He was later transferred to a hospital in Windsor.
Police continue to investigate.
