Paramedics transported a man and a woman to hospital after a violent home invasion in the 1300 block of Oak Avenue Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews loaded the man onto a stretcher and carted him out of the house into a waiting ambulance at about 4:15 p.m. A young woman wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt followed him into the ambulance with a police officer a few minutes later.
A second young woman waiting on the porch identified herself as the man’s girlfriend and said the other woman was her boyfriend’s sister, who shared the house with him. She said she came there from work to visit them and found the the house in disarray and the two beaten.
“Basically, someone broke in. She was in the shower, held the door closed. They beat him up and came in and beat her up,” she said.
A neighbour said the man’s sister told him four men, whom she did not know, invaded the house.
Police said the man’s injuries were not life threatening and they had not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.
