Windsor police are warning people to expect traffic congestion and delays on Wednesday when the Idle No More protest comes to town.
Police, who have been in contact with organizers, said protesters will be coming down Highway 401 into Windsor on Wednesday morning.
They have planned a “peaceful walk,” starting at 11 a.m. It will start at the intersection of Huron Church Road and Tecumseh Road West, and go to the foot of the Ambassador Bridge. Protesters are expected to assemble at the bridge in the College Avenue area, then walk back to Tecumseh Road.
Police said there will be traffic delays, and are suggesting people monitor traffic conditions and take alternate routes.
The march in Windsor is part of a Canada-wide movement that has seen thousands of people mobilize to protest federal government legislation, which protesters believe tramples First Nations treaty rights.
