A man was injured and a dog died at a fire Friday night at 333 Chilver Rd.
The man was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries, said chief fire prevention officer Lee Tome late Friday night.
By 10:30 p.m. firefighters had put the fire out.
“It started in the lower unit. The fire spread to the upper unit,” Tome said.
A witness said a dog died and its body was covered by a blanket at the scene. Tome confirmed a dog had died.
The fire is under investigation so Tome did not know the cause or dollar value of the damage.
It is a four unit building and two of the units are damaged by fire and there is smoke damage throughout the building, Tome said.
