Construction crews have started work transforming the University of Windsor’s former bookstore into an expansion for the Odette School of business.
The south wing of the Odette Building is being transformed into additional classrooms, an entrepreneurship centre, student club space and an auditorium. Allan Conway, dean of the Odette School of Business, said construction is scheduled for completion by June and students should be able to fully use the new space when classes start up in September.
Conway said he’s particularly excited about a new video conference room, which he hopes will help the business school forge international ties by linking up with students around the world. ”We think that’s very important in terms of allowing our students to become more global,” he said.
Student groups will also benefit from the extra space and an online booking system for rooms, Conway said.
The renovation comes thanks to a $3 million gift from the Odette family, the largest single donation in the University of Windsor’s history.
