Windsor man with child in car stopped for drinking and driving

An alert driver in Blenheim helped police get a repeat drunk driver from Windsor off the road Wednesday.

The concerned citizen saw an erratic driver on Chatham Street go into a ditch them back onto the road. The citizen followed the vehicle , giving police a description so the driver could be stopped on Communication Road north of Shrewsbury.

Police said the man had a four-year-old in the car. A roadside breathalyzer showed the man had been drinking. After blowing a warning, he was handed a seven-day licence suspension and his car was towed.

The man has previously been issued a three-day licence suspension for drinking and driving.
