The widow of a slain Windsor police officer vows she will fight the transfer of her husband’s killer to a medium security prison.
“It’s a slap in the face,” said Shelley Atkinson, noting that Nikkolas Brennan has only served 5 and 1/2 years of his 25-year sentence.
Brennan was convicted of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Constable John Atkinson in 2007.
Shelley Atkinson and the Windsor Police Association have sent a letter to the federal Public Safety Minister protesting Brennan’s transfer and asking for intervention
“Nikkolas Brennan must be held accountable for his actions. He remains a serious threat to society,” the letter states.
More to come.
