Patients on their way into the operating room at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital now have nicer surroundings to wait in — and their families do, too.
The hospital’s new waiting area got a makeover thanks to a donation from local charity In Honour of the Ones We Love, which raises funds for cancer and health care services in the region, with support from Canadian Club Brand.
The new waiting room, designed by Joan Walters-Paladeau, has been renamed the In Honour of the Ones We Love Inc. Family Waiting Room.
The $110,000 donation helped renovate and redecorate the waiting room and also allowed the hospital to purchase new surgical equipment.
Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor, Ont., held a dedication ceremony Thursday, July 4, 2013, to mark the makeover of the operating room family and patient waiting area.
