Windsor police have captured one suspect and are seeking a second in connection with a robbery in the area of Wyandotte Street and Langlois Avenue.
Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Wyandotte Street East about 6:15 p.m. Thursday. A 26-year-old male victim told them he had been jumped by two male suspects. The suspects punched the victim when he told them he had no money and took his cellphone. The suspects fled on a bike and then hopped into a cab, say police.
A traffic enforcement officer spotted one of the suspects at University and Dougall Avenues and arrested him. The second suspect remains at large.
He is described as a First Nations male, five foot seven, 150 pounds with a goatee and long black hair pulled back in a ponytail. He was wearing jeans, a white shirt and white shoes.
Police have video surveillance footage of the suspect.
