The toddler found unconscious in a Harrow pond Sunday evening has been transferred to a hospital in Michigan, where he remains in critical condition.
The boy was first airlifted to Sick Children’s Hospital in London and put on life support. OPP spokesman Const. Aaron McPhail said Monday morning the boy has since been transferred to Michigan.
Essex County OPP and paramedics responded around 5 p.m. to a home on Clithrow Street, where the boy was found in a backyard pond. He was unconscious and not breathing.
Police said the boy and his family, from Brunswick, Ohio, had been at a Christian church gathering in Harrow. The father suddenly realized he couldn’t find his son.
After a 15-minute search, the family found the boy in the pond on a property next to the church.
Police haven’t revealed the name of the child or his family.
