Investigators say a Chatham man has admitted to luring two children after a concerned citizen handed his cell phone over to police complaining it contained child pornography.
Chatham-Kent police said the citizen turned in the iPhone on July 8. The Internet Child Exploitation Unit took the phone and contacted the owner.
Investigators interviewed him on Monday. Police said he identified the victims and implicated himself in two separate luring incidents.
Officers then reached out to the victims, who allegedly corroborated what the suspect had said.
Daniel Armand Marchand, 36, is charged with two counts of luring a child, two counts of accessing child pornography and two counts of possessing child pornography. Police also seized a laptop and a desktop computer for analysis. Marchand was released from custody until an upcoming court appearance.
