Essex County OPP responded to two calls Friday about children locked in cars.
The first call came in at 11:24 a.m., from Mersea Road One near Leamington. A woman called police saying she accidentally locked her keys in the car along with her seven-month-old child.
Police arrived and broke a window to rescue the baby, who was in the car about two minutes. The child was okay, but police called paramedics as a precaution.
The second call came at 11:53 a.m., from a citizen concerned about two kids in a car.
Police said the children, a one-year-old and nine-year-old, were locked in a car with the air conditioning on outside a Tecumseh business.
Officers tracked down their mother, who left the children in the car because she didn’t want to wake up the one-year-old. The children weren’t hurt. Police called the Children’s Aid Society.
