Now everyone who wanted a piece of Windsor history will have one.
The city has announced it has salvaged more bricks from the former Grace Hospital site at University and Crawford Avenue.
Earlier this year, the city offered bricks from the demolished building as souvenirs.
A total of 300 bricks had been recovered and cleaned. Interested members of the public only had to call 311 and request a piece.
But the response was overwhelming. The available supply was quickly exhausted, with 433 requests left outstanding.
As a result, Mayor Eddie Francis personally asked the public works department to salvage more bricks so that all of the remaining requests could be filled.
City workers are in the process of sanitizing the bricks. A distribution plan is being worked out.
