Snow removal operations over the next few days, including at bus stops and sidewalks, will force rotating closure on several major routes, the City of Windsor has announced.
The bulk of the work, approved by city council, will begin at 6 p.m. tonight and continue Wednesday, and Thursday, resuming Sunday evening if needed. Precise timing of the closures cannot be determined in advance.
The roads affected are: Wyandotte Street East, eastbound from Ouellette Avenue to Lauzon Road; Ottawa Street, eastbound to Walker Road; Wyandotte Street West, westbound from Ouellette Avenue to Huron Church Road; Tecumseh Road East, eastbound from Ouellette to Lauzon; and Erie Street, eastbound from Ouellette to Lincoln Road.
In addition, motorists may encounter delays due to snow removal beginning Wednesday at 7 a.m. on Ouellette, south from Riverside Drive and on University Avenue West, from Ouellette to Huron Church. The work will continue on Thursday and Friday and may resume Monday, if needed.
Peter Matheson, maintenance manager, said the closures will be conducted in segments and move as the portions of the sidewalks and bus stops are cleared.
