A Leamington man who disappeared in his pickup truck in the midst of a wicked winter storm has been located by police and is alive.
Leamington OPP issued a public alert Tuesday afternoon, urging residents to be on the lookout for 70-year-old John Friesen, who left his home on Robson Road about 4:30 p.m. Monday in his 2008 GMC Sierra pickup.
Police located Friesen inside his truck Tuesday afternoon. It had been buried in snow overnight and only a taillight was visible.
Friesen’s vehicle was located in deep snow on East Beach Road in Leamington. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
OPP have found John Friesen, 70, who spent the night stranded in his vehicle. He's alive but his condition hasn't been confirmed.—
