The Jiimaan ferry, much in the news this year because of its troubles, won’t be sailing Thursday night, and its Friday morning sailing has been cancelled as well.
The ship’s operator blames a “mechanical issue.”
It means the Jiimaan’s 6 p.m. sailing to Pelee Island was cancelled, and the ferry’s scheduled departure from the island Friday at 8 a.m. has also been nixed.
Owen Sound Transportation Company announced on Twitter that an update will be given Friday morning.
It looks like Jiimaan will be out of service for the day. Pelee Islander will be operating starting at 10am from Leamington.
