The alleged perpetrator of a west-end crime spree is facing 23 charges after Windsor police caught him hiding between two cars in a parking garage.
Windsor police have released surveillance video of the man’s alleged accomplice in the hopes that someone will recognize him.
Officers were called to the building in the 1700 block of University Avenue West at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 19. Two people had broken into the apartment building and made their way into the parking garage.
Police said the pair then broke into nine cars by smashing the windows.
Officers were called to the apartment again the following day about a suspicious man. Once again, someone got into the building and broke into several cars.
Officers searched the garage and found a man hiding between two parked vehicles. After arresting him, they searched his backpack. Police said the bag had several items taken from cars in the garage.
Investigators also obtained surveillance video from the garage, police said, which showed the man during the break-in the previous day.
George Liscombe, 45, is charged with 10 counts of mischief, two counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, seven counts of theft and two counts of possession of break and enter tools.
Police are still looking for the second thief, a white man with a medium build. He was wearing a brown leather coat, black knit hat, gloves, dark pants and a black scarf over his face.
